EK PED MAA K NAAM

NCC Cadets of AGS Krusan Participate in Tree Plantation Drive under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Campaign

Krusan, Lolab | 8 August 2026:
NCC Cadets of 7 J&K Battalion NCC, Kupwara, from Army Goodwill School (AGS) Krusan, Lolab, actively participated in a Tree Plantation Drive organised under the nationwide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on 8 August 2026.

The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness among young citizens and encourage them to take meaningful steps towards protecting and preserving nature. The NCC cadets enthusiastically planted saplings at designated locations and contributed to the creation of a greener, cleaner and healthier environment.

The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign encourages citizens to plant trees as a tribute to their mothers while highlighting the importance of trees in sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance. The participation of the young NCC cadets added a meaningful dimension to the campaign, reflecting their commitment towards environmental conservation and community service.

During the drive, the cadets demonstrated the core NCC values of discipline, unity, teamwork and social responsibility. They also spread awareness about the importance of protecting trees, conserving natural resources, improving air quality and preserving biodiversity.

The cadets were encouraged to understand that plantation is only the first step and that the real responsibility lies in nurturing and protecting the saplings so that they grow into healthy and productive trees.

The activity also provided the cadets with an opportunity to connect their NCC training with meaningful community service. Their enthusiastic participation reflected the spirit of responsible citizenship and their willingness to contribute towards the welfare of society.

The school appreciated the efforts of the NCC cadets and encouraged them to continue participating in initiatives aimed at environmental protection and community development.

The plantation drive concluded with the cadets reaffirming their commitment to protecting nature and inspiring others to adopt environmentally responsible practices. The initiative served as a strong reminder that every sapling planted today can contribute to a greener and more sustainable tomorrow.

Through this initiative, the NCC cadets of AGS Krusan demonstrated that the youth can become powerful ambassadors of environmental conservation—one sapling at a time. 🇮🇳🌱🌳
